Hi,

I play wiht the idea to create chess videos for the kids I coach .

What software is used by the teachers at chess.com for these great video lectures here? Is it usage free?

There are two good free options for creating these types of videos:

CamStudio

oCam

I recommend oCam for pure simplicity.  Couldn't be easier and does a great job.

Thank you. Which software is used for drawing the green board and the arrows? I think it is important to make these markers fast and simple with the mouse.

I'm also looking for an application designed to make chess tutorials. Right now I am taking screenshots from chessx and drawing the arrows by hand. I know there is something easier because I see others use it. I'll let you know when I learn what it is.

Programs like oCam and Camstudio are screen recorders. If you have a Mac, the built-in Quicktime application has a screen recorder that is easy to use. You can use iMovie to edit it how you'd like.

Cheers!

Does Chessbase 12 have tools to help you make tutorials?

I use now ocam and the chess.com analysis board: example -->

I  use Scid vs PC for game demos, also.  It has the ability to draw arrows and highlight squares on the fly.

Lucas Chess has a very cool board marking feature called "Director" but it's a bit cumbersome to use.  Worth a look, though.

You can go in to live chess here on chess.com and start a new game with "Analysis Game" as the time control.  This will open a board in analysis mode.   You can move pieces around and right drag / right click to draw arrows or highlight squares.
