Why Can't I Access Live Chess??

Sort:
LinearLaplace

Upon logging in and attempting to play in Live Chess, the site keeps redirecting me to the (Beta) Play (chess.com/play/online ). What is happening?! Is Live Chess unaccessible? I already tried clearing cookies for chess.com, yet I still cannot access Live Chess. In desperate need for help or guidance.

Mine is fine. Try click on this link https://www.chess.com/live

The link still leads me to https://www.chess.com/play/online . Please help!

Clear the site cookies and that will fix the redirect.

I think I stated pretty clearly in my introductory post that I already cleared my site cookies. This issue is still occurring.

Maybe not all of them cleared correctly. As far as I'm aware, everyone else that has had the problem and done that has been able to get to /live.

You can try incognito mode or another browser.

I'm having the same problem. I cleared cookies too and even tried incognito but still, chess.com/live redirects me to chess.com/play/online. I really don't like the interface of online. Please help!

HeyIWannaIsATime

I am having the same issue. I cleared the cookies and site cache and restarted, tried incognito, tried on safari as well but it just auto-redirects to chess.com/play/online. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Investigating. Hope to be able to report back to you guys, can't promise.

Hey all. Apologies for this. Somehow it was enabled again. We have turned off the redirect. You may need to clear cache again. I’m deeply sorry.

HeyIWannaIsATime

It worked! thanks happy.png

Olympiad

Glad to hear the issue has been resolved for you happy.png

This is happening to me today. I have tried every fix suggested. And on multiple browsers too. Any ideas?

Edit: looks like large portions of the website are not working for me, the menu system on the left does nothing when i hover over it. the more button leads to nothing. Report a bug does nothing. Collapse does nothing. I cant even access my notifications.

Hi guys,

I see that you have cleared your cookies, but have you cleared your site caches?

Webpages do get saved locally to your computer in temporary files. Use the following links to clear out your web cache, restart your browser, and see if the issue persists.

Let me know if this was helpful, I'll be back to check and see if there's other advice I can offer to you:

Clear cache
Internet Explorer: https://support.chess.com/article/612-clearing-your-internet-explorer-browser-cache
Edge: https://support.chess.com/article/1335-how-do-i-clear-my-edge-browser-cache
Firefox: https://support.chess.com/article/602-clearing-your-firefox-browser-cache
Chrome: https://support.chess.com/article/592-clearing-your-chrome-browser-cache

Thanks!

I've followed these instructions without success.

There is currently an issue for a subset of members. I think it's related to the CDN used by the site and only impacts some regions.

Staff is aware.

Reccossu

in case it helps troubleshoot, it is affecting me as well.  Thanks.

WJS

It is also affecting me.  BTW, Puzzles still work.  FYI, Mac OS 11.1, Safari.
