Why did I got paired again with a player I blocked?

I just played a game with a player who I suspected was cheating. In the end of the game I pressed the "block" button and got the message "the player is already in the block list" or something.
I looked at his info and indeed it's the second time I play him. I probably suspected him in the first time too so I blocked him, so why the hell am I paired with him again to lose again to this probably cheater?!

There seems to be a bug with blocking and staff are aware and looking into it.

Same thing just happened to me, time waster not cheater, seconded that hope its fixed soon. Wish Chess.com would just ban these people from the site.

How much time to fix this? I lost another game now to a time drainer who wastes all my time by playing 5+5 blitz like it's a bullet game whom I already blocked, I don't want to play such players and it's getting really frustrating.

It depends on the complexity of the bug, developer availability, and where it falls in priority to other bugs and projects.

He plays like it's bullet instantly but somehow his moves are normal with no obvious flaw, and it's not some mainline you don't need to think until move 12 or something, but some half improvised sideline in the london which makes me think a lot in every move. Pretty quickly I was with one minute left while he has almost the 5 minutes we started with.
And it's very annoying and distracting when whatever move you make the opponent replies instantly and your time continues to drain on and on.

yep i'm about to remove my membership again, no way i'm paying money to be harassed by idiots who cheat. If Chess.com isn't going to do their job and remove abusive/toxic people then they're not getting a penny from me. playing a wave of cheaters loses our hard earnied ranking points and doesn't allow us to improve as students of chess
