Bad luck.
No doubt one or more of the usual suspects making complaints to help and support about threads they don't like.
87 is probably right. It's probably someone that didn't like the topic. And if they are unable to throw a fit in the topic itself, they figure trying to get it locked is justified.

No response in 13 hours. It is like the mods purposefully ignore this thread. They probably do.
Someone with whom you disagree with, but is honest, is always a lot more credible (and pleasant) than someone you agree with but happens to be dishonest.
And sometimes you find someone who hits all three targets. Dishonest, not credible, and; unpleasant. Those are the people that are not worth engaging at all.

Not even an answer from @Martin_Stahl. The same thing was happening with Endgame's thread on his thread getting deleted.
This is a chess site. A thread titled "Climate change is a hoax" is offtopic trolling (not to mention that it's dumb).
I'm glad that there's one moderator who's willing to do what needs to be done.

If you read the first post there is a disclaimer saying I do not believe it is a hoax and why I named it that.
I'm glad that there's one moderator who's willing to do what needs to be done.
Just go to the global warming thread and see how much insulting has gone on there, as well as breaches of TOS.

I think that it's possible that climate change is something that could possibly affect every single chess player on earth. So while the topic might not be as thrilling as "Why is the donkey called a knight" it still affects a lot of chess players. So maybe instead of saying it's "dumb" maybe just say it's uninteresting to you.
I'm sure nobody breached TOS, the thread received no warning, and the thread was locked without explanation.
