You are winning - and the game freezes !

I love chess.com, the humour and interaction, forums etc. I have played around 10.000 games, still none the wiser, but then I play for fun and not to be a GM. Out of 10.000 games, not ONCE did the game freeze when I was losing. Does not happen often and only happens when I am winning or promoting a pawn and then all of a sudden. I can do what I want and nothing on the keyboard registers. My clock is ticking however and when I restart the site, it says game abandoned and my opponent won.

There are some people on this site who are able to hack into the programme at will and stop your moves and win the game. How they do it and what satisfaction they gain, I do not know. I am sure other people have notice this as well.

My advice is do what I do, when this happens, and you will know !!!, delete these cheats on the "Support" link so that you will never have to play against them again. What's the point in playing against someone who is happy to play when you lose, but when you win he stops the game ???

I have the same problem at night with my wife. It's up and hard as a rock, then the winter breeze blows through under the covers, and the tent is collapsing.

hi Nobby, the same just happened to me and I have the screenshots to prove it. Is there anywhere to post these cheater losers? or maybe on Facebook

I am not an IT fundi but I know when I am being cheated and chess is not a game for cheaters. They should be removed.

This has happened to me twice over the last 24 hours. Why can’t it be fixed?

I’m going to another chess site until they do.

Yep same happens for me several times today - therefore I am not sure it is a cheat, but more likely to be the system - my internet looks fine. Both clocks stop, then mine resumes with several minutes lost - naturally I lose every time. Is this a glitch with the app ? I play on a iPad

Nooby do you play on the app or on PC? Not a freeze if the clock is running but you can not move. Possible cheat but unlikely as the person would have to pull up your game and modify it during play. I do not see how it could be done in 15 minutes

Same, frozen 4 times today, frustrating! Does Chess.com ever comment on these posts?

This happened to me many times. And I just joined last month. It usually unfreezes after a minute or two so I always wait. But yes I lose time, sometimes i offer a draw and tell the person that I’m frozen and they accept usually. I think it’s a problem with the app. Maybe I’ll email chess.com customer support if they have that.

Lol just realised the original post is from 6 years ago

Also happened to me twice. I’m not sure if it’s cheating or a glitch. Game freezes, both clocks are stuck, and after a while you lose by timeout or abandonment. Both times happened in a winning position for me. It’s the app on iPad, not sure if it happens on the website.

This happened to many times. My opponent even thought it is me who is responsible for this. Chess.com could you please assist us in this😟

My clock froze twice today. Fortunately, I was losing both games, but it was still annoying. My internet connection seemed fine.
