Bullet games. Any special mouse or settings?

How do the people move so fast?

I  always lost 2/3 seconds/move with the mouse. Any special mouse or settings to move faster? Now, for me is imposible to play bullet.

When I learned what bullet chess was I thought about a similar topic. I thought doesn't the speed of moves more depend on the skill with using the mouse and mouse tuning? I think it very much does which is why I view bullet chess as kind of pointless as your thinking speed will always be bottlenecked by your ability to use the mouse fast. However, if this were done on a touch screen such as maybe an iPad or microsoft windows touch screens, it should be no issue if the player can move their hand quickly enough. They can just hold the hand close to the screen for game duration.

To answer the question itself, you might get faster mouse movement if you buy a Logitech gaming mouse and make sure to install their software. There are settings for pointer speeds as well as accuracy. (I've only had experience with Logitech gaming mice). I also doubt that increasing the pointer speed beyond that which windows allows will make anything any faster. It moves very fast if you turn it to maximum and practice. I'd have more trouble with aiming.

Thanks a lot for your answr Drawgood. I will investigate the Logitech gaming mouse.

Anyone know what is a "premove setting". I read something about it, but I cant find it now.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, premoves are what you're looking for.

They allow you to make an automatic move that gets played if legal.

However, they still take about 0.66 seconds.

You have to enable them here.

It's way quicker to play with a mouse than it is on a touch screen like an iPad - there's too much of a delay between touching the screen and it recognising you're moving that piece. A mouse is much faster.

Premoves are awesome, but you do have to be careful of setting yourself up for a trap if your opponent does something unexpected. I have a pattern for openings on both colours that normally works pretty well, but if I'm not careful, I have been known to lose my queen for a bishop in the first 4 moves. But I find it worth the risk...

Thanks a lot to everyone!!!

Personally I've not noticed any delays on either the iPad or the iPhone I play on. It looks instantaneous to me. You mean delay between the iPad and server maybe?

Bullet is addictive. But I have got a tablet pc... I need 1-2 seconds for every move... Naturally I lose dozens of games! Some opponents realize this and just wait until my time runs out! Premoves might be the solution...
