can I cancel an online chess game if my opponent keeps going on vacation?

But at least the game would be moving on. The way he says it is now, it could go on for God knows how long.

Agreed -- it sounds like his opponent needs to re-evaluate what time controls they are best suited to and abstain from initiating one day-per-move games.

But the game would be done a lot sooner. My opponent is dragging out the current game too long. i wonder if it's part of his strategy. If that's the case, it's working. I might just resign and get it over with.

It seems that if they were going to use vacation, they would have to tell you ahead of time how long it was going to be, so you wouldn't have to keep checking.
What's wrong with playing live chess? The game won't take any more time than move preparation, and you are either playing or are not playing.
I have a similar problem its my opponent's turn and its mate in 1 but he would not move then when only 84 minutes is left for him he puts on vacation he had 1 month vacation time and now finally only less than a week left I hate those people with no sport spirit

You can report him to support team if you think he is deliberatelly stalling the game with vacation:

You can also setup a conditional move, so when he finally plays, he will immediately get checkmate.

This. Back when I was only playing the Facebook version (without conditional moves), I cursed the opponent in a 14-day-per-move game where I had calculated to a checkmate in five moves, and he moved about once per week. Merging the accounts was nice in that conditional moves were a welcome addition.
I signed up for a 1 move per 3 days game, not a game where my opponent makes 1 move per week. Meanwhile, I need to keep logging in and checking to see if it's my turn to move or else I might lose on time. Can I cancel the game?
