Chat History

I think many of us would agree that chat history should be saved after the game ends. I don't know what it isn't a feature yet.

Most chat isn't worth keeping.

We should be able to turn it on/off from the settings then to be able to save the chat or not. What if I want to report someone based on their hateful messages but don't have time for it for the moment, or I had a banter with a fellow chess player and want to revisit it a few years later. It should be a feature, I think most players would agree

yea man, dead on.

I agree for your reasons, too, but my main reason for wanting to keep the chats is so that when I get a good note or bit of advice I can refer to it later. Right now, my method is looking at a slip of paper on my desk the next day, written in a panic as the next game in the tournament was starting, trying to read my scrawled handwriting that says, "Ern Rosem Horwiz" and wondering what in the world I meant by that.

(Eric Rosen "Horwitz" is what I meant on this occasion, turns out. After looking at some videos on YouTube, I'm still not sure exactly why I wrote it down, though, and I can't remember which opponent mentioned it as something I could study. Oh well.)

Make a suggestion to staff regarding chat history and if enough people want it then in future things could change.

Thanks

Submitted. We'll see if it's something they're interested in implementing.
