Chess Pieces

Does anyone else here think we should have better choices when it comes to the chess piece depictions in live chess?  Most of the figures look ridiculous, especially the "modern" set.

Do any of these sets have any basis in chess history?  I've never seen the pieces depicted like that in any book.  Furthermore, is there a way to import your own options into the game?

I'm to my wits end over this!

That is what I use now!  It's the only set I can tolerate.  But I'm sure we could use more of a selection!  And what's up with the "condal" set?  Where did that come from?

But there are so many beautiful chess "fonts" from which to choose.  Many of them were created by Armando H. Marroquin, who designed the "Condal" set.  You can see many of the different ones here:

Would it be possible to import these into Live chess?

The problem with the "Classic," "Vintage" and "Cases" sets are that the pawns are too wide.  The white pawns look like fat frosty the snowmen!  Its very distracting as I demand my pieces have that svelte, lean, menacing look.

And this set looks positively cartoonish.  The white pieces are reposing on their squares like unhealthy bloated, melting marshmellows.
