disable premoves?

Hi,

Is there any way that I can disable all premoves in live chess games that I play? I would like there to be no premoves whatsoever for myself or my opponent. Is this possible?

Also do premoves take zero seconds off the clock?

Thanks!

You can't disable premoves for your opponent, but you can for yourself in the settings. And yes, premoves do indeed take zero seconds off the clock.

Suggestion to allow players of a like mind to play without premoves, while not affecting anyone else.

Premoves are a blight on Bullet Chess.  The only thing they add is the ability to turn a 1 0 bullet match in a 2 1 Bullet match (for one or either player).

Premoves are a joke in any time control under 3 minutes.

nothing forces anyone to use premoves.

premoves are a result of the confluence of correspondence chess (where pre-moves were sometimes included, to speed up the game), and internet chess - where very little time lag is experienced in some games.

and I recall reading something about    0.1 second increments off your time for premoves, regardless.

seanak, you don't get to move in zero time anymore.

regards,

it is not possible to play a game without premoves by design.   If you opponent has premoves turned on, you either play at a disadvantage or turn them on yourself.  ie they are compulsory as you cannot dictate that they are turned off.
