Hi,

I dont like the new setup of chess.com. The previous version was doing great. Now i have the following problem....I dont want to play players with rating under 1800 in 3 min games. I found the function FILTER and set up the field min with 1800. However when i create new game i get oponents with rating 1450, 1600, 1760 etc which drives me crazy cos I need to abort the game every $%#@& time. HOw to set this up, dear chess friends? Thanks for advice!

There seems to be a misconception where Filter is concerned :(

The Filter button is only used to filter out the seeks you want to see from other people in the challenges list. It has nothing to do with the challenges you yourself create. We didn't change the filter function between the last version of live chess and the current one.

With the filter, for example if you only want to see challenges from people rated 1600 - 1900, then you enter those into the filter, and those are the only challenges from other people you'll see in the List Smile

In the Range area, you'll see -100 in one box and +100 in the other box.

Those are the ones you use to enter the min and max ratings you want your opponent to have

Where is the "Range" area, please? It used to be there a few days ago, but with the most recent interface change, this setting has disappeared for me. It's as if setting up games is getting ever more confusing. :-o

Many thanks, Kohai! Nice to have rediscovered this feature. Another feature that has disappeared in the most recent upgrade: when a game is finished and you wish to review it by clicking the back-arrows, "Game Details" (showing pieces no longer in the game) are no longer available, which makes reviewing the game right there useless for me. I need to visit the Archive and open the finished game from there to see "Game Details" with the pieces.

True, after game end you can still go through the notation on the game to review it.

but the only thing you won't see are the pieces taken when going through a game after its ended. Its not so easy to add those Frown

Faterson
Well, you see, the pieces taken are the fastest way to browse a finished game. Especially when I lose a game, I want to see where I made that decisive error, which is easiest to find by looking at the pieces taken at this or that moment of the game. Prior to the most recent upgrade, pieces taken were shown along with the notation, which was great. This worked well for over a year (for me, ever since I joined chess.com). Perhaps the pieces taken could be shown on an extra tab (as in the Archive), but ideally along with the notation (which worked fine until last week or so). Thank you if it can be arranged. :-)
