guaging interest for a chess tornament

Hi all

   Firstly i would like to wish you all a happy new years.

I am currently in the process of constructing a chess site. I am planning to hold a tournament for its opening. There will be prize money for the winner dependant on how many people sign up. We already have 15 players. The tournament will be held in Febuary sometime and will be organised into groups. There will be age restrictions so you will need to be 18 or older to play. There will be a entry fee which will be $3 per a player. $2 of which will go towards the final prizes and $1 for administration and organisation. The final prize will be either all money going to the winner or 75% to the winner and 25% to the runner up. No payment is due till the date is finalised.

How will you prevent cheating?

How will someone be able to cheat? Do you mean by having someone next to there computer telling them what move to take? If thats the case, then does anyone have any ideas?

They could cheat by having a computer make their moves for them, and so would be playing like a 3000 Elo player.

hmm i understand.

    Think i will have to leave it till theres another way. Is there any way around this? its a hard one as the risk of cheating will always be there.
