How are my opponents gaining time??

I've been playing 5/5 bullet chess and I keep noticing toward the end of the game when the opponent has around .30 to 50 seconds left, all the sudden they gain a significant amount of time. Does 5 minutes not mean you have 5 minutes to use?

The problem is that there are actually 3 different clocks: yours, your opponents, and the only one that counts, the server.  Let me get a few articles for you...

Well...

1. I think it’s a 5/5 blitz

2. Don’t worry, it’s not a hack 5/5 means 5 minutes but every time you move you gain 5 seconds

3.You get time to.

For example a 2/1 means 2 minutes and gaining 1 second every move.

6/2 means 6 minutes and gaining 2 seconds every move

It’s all normal, depends on how long
