Well i dont know. Ive tried ponziani lately but i have not studied anything. I just started getting more serious
I win more games as black. Why?

Since when is the Queen's Gambit drawish? Honestly, there is no drawish openings at our level.
For example harryz: in correspondance chess you have never once had a draw in the queen's gambit as white or black.
White wins 39.8% with the Queen's Gambit and 38.6% of the time with the Italian but only 37.6% of the time with Sicilian which I've never heard anyone call drawish, but over the long haul its not a winning as either of the other two openings you suggested.

I have the same problem as well.A slightly better performance as black the time the opposite should happen.Don't know why

I think the main reason as people prepare more as black because you feel like you have to be ready to face what white does. But as white you know you have that slight advantage so there is less pressure to prepare. But at our levels that white advantage is basically meaningless, so the increased prep to play as black is actually more important in the results of the games

I think the main reason as people prepare more as black because you feel like you have to be ready to face what white does.
But thats not the case if you play something irregular such as the Bird or the English
it is if you still play a similar set up

I do not think preparate matters in these levels explain why some men better with second side.
My idea is these men have better pattern recognition for common positions as seen from second side and thus are tactically better playing second side.
there is no reason pattern recognition would differ when you change sides

ok if we are assuming they are making the moves purely on recognition and no understanding of the given position then I guess that could be the case. But that more points to a lack of thinking than anything objectively being different

Yes but whether that is connected to the color one plays would be an interesting study. I know I think less as white

i think it is more I am just reckless as white, and actually play chess as black. Unless I am otb, then it is even

I just realised I win 64% with black, compared to 39% with white!! That's a lot! I should investigate this, I find it funny and I am surprised I never noticed :-)
Interestingly, that happens only with "Rapid" (30' games), not with Blitz (10')

"I win more games as black."
Then you're like Magnus Carlsen!
I have no idea what I was thinking 4 years ago when I said this.
There are some opponents against whom I score better with black. Against them, I will sometimes play Anderssen's Opening (1. a3) as white, so I'm basically always playing as black against them.
While the conventional wisdom is that white has an advantage, black gets one thing which white doesn't - white's first move usually betrays his plan of attack, while black's response to that plan is an unknown. There is also the psychological factor of the white player having to prove he's better. It is therefore easier for black to surprise, and very jarring for the player who's playing white if/when he loses the initiative.
Does anyone have a preference to white or black?
