Losers

You know the first thing i do when i lose or win? i say gg but recently something strange has started happening. I have been encountering a lot of sore losers. Whenever they lose they start harassing my nationality, religion and what not. Most of them were younger than me so i marked them as ignorant and immature in my mind and ignored them. But not long ago i came across a sore loser and he took the harassing beyond and over the limits, tenfolds. So i checked his age and he was over 50 years old. Of course i had no option other than to try to reason and then eventually ignore him but it was strange for him to be raising religious and such issues on such a platform. I mean we are here to play chess and not demean others.

Just wanted to bring the issue to light.

It is strange that these kind of things happen. Don't let it ruin your fun here. There are thousands of normal kind people that are friendly.

Yes, you are right.

The site provides plenty of tools to deal with such situations:

1. Disable in-game chat.

2. Block people you find offensive (My Home >> Account >> Privacy)

3. Report abuse (copy and paste their words in your report):

You forgot

4. Make fun of them

well reporting the person in question is of little help until chess.com keeps records themselves, which i doubt they do. After all it is a lot of data and the thing happened to me a while ago. Anyways there will always be one person out of a hundred who will do that. So, the best option would be 3.

Incorrect. The correct response is 4.

@sheardp

like i said there will always be one in a hundred.

Hey bro. though m from India I support U. Only solution to this problem is to report & block such patzers.

once i've played against someone and he had a big blunder, than he just started to say "israel bad dog" or something like that.

Most people regard Pakistan as a failed state, but that is no reason to slag a guy off. For all I know you might be deeply embarrassed about your country. I certainly would be.

Now this is perfect example of fallacy. One should bring some arguments to support such a "brave" statement. Wink

Dragec

Exactly, and since this site is about chess, one should consider not to write about "failed states" Cool

ihassaan

in total agreement with Dragec. there are other forums for discussing states and religion.

sore losers are always sore losers, name calling is childish;would prefer to prove that being a good loser, than bad winner.I have lost more games than won.but that would be my fault.which I will not take it out on any one else, which some players may do.

I agree, No matter if a player played bad nor played excellent always good to at least tell them great game or thanks.

Point is to have fun and learn as you play better players.

But recently I to have come across some people who are real ft nuts!

Unfortunately got to say it comes most from the US based players - there is like 4-10 which are really getting on my nerves!!

Can't take it when I play Queen for Queen as it counts in my favour as game is laid out. So sometimes I like just replying in my own language :) But then they come with the great excuse learn English LMFAOROFL : I know how and just a heads up sorry for them since they only know one language English standard.

My point is go learn another language ffs - I know five!

** On a good Note **

Have played against some awesome US people and in the process made some friends - so a few sour apples you will always find!

Have fun guys and enjoy the game.

I think you can report that to the admins.

Certainly in Australia it is illegal to be rascist - however USA is more relaxed on rascist because they believe in freedom of speech, and most of the admins are from USA...

These type of people are not worth wasting your time over report it to staff.

They should be named and shamed in a forum post by staff when found to have broken the terms and conditions of the site I think this would cut down on these type of people.

I'm playing one of those losers right now.  Very rude and he was winning the whole game.  Now it's the end game and I managed to get a pawn promote to a queen...I can't stop laughing.  Here is the game if your interested,  The end game is the exciting part...
