prob lag, it has happened to me
Lost on time when opponent's clock running

Yes just had the same problem, Play chess .com overcomes this by showing whether you are connected on not! It really, really annoying when you are winning a tournament, think that your opponent has got fed up and left only to find that you are no longer connected.

But there was no indication that I had lost my connection. And I was waiting for a good 3 or 4 minutes.

chess.com's answer would be either "It's lag" or "Clear your cache". Although some things are genuine bugs, some are lag or a browser problem. It should have shown that you were not connected earlier.

I'm using a tablet and the chess.com app it has many bugs from not switching the clock to king disappearing or freezing when castling I've almost given up trying to play live chess :(

I don't believe that's the explanation. People hardly ever pre-move in 15 minute games. Not until they're about to lose on time anyway.
I'm encountering this problem more and more. I won't be renewing my membership until it's fixed.

Hi wensleydale,
I'm really sorry about what is happening here and I'm very sorry for such a late response :( I assure you that we are investigating this issue.
Is this still going on? If it is, could you help me by providing the following information?
1/ What operating system, browser and browser version are you using when this happens?
2/ Do you have any add-ons or extensions installed on your browser?
3/ Would you be able to provide the URL links to the games in which this happened?
4/ What type of internet connection are you using?

It mostly happens with the iPad app -- in fact I'm not sure that it has ever happened when using my desktop -- but that may be because I rarely do use my desktop for chess.
1. iOS 7
2. n/a
3. Here's the latest one: http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=650107247. My move 9.Nb5 appeared on my screen and my opponent's clock appeared to be running. After waiting for several minutes I closed and restarted the app. My knight was back on c3 and my clock was running.
4. ADSL broadband, and wi-fi to the iPad.

And another one: http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=673070647. My 26th move appeared on my screen but apparently wasn't recognised by the server, because it disappeared when I restarted the app.
Is anything being done about this?
Had the same problem as the topic starter twice right now - first time my opponent won when I saw his clock running down till 00:00. Next time I've lost about a minute in the same way (but later did a checkmate and won).

Sorry for my english.

And the same thing happened at least twice in this game today: http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=687841131. I was using Safari on an iPad.
Obviously it isn't chess.com's fault if I have a flaky connection (though it never seems so flaky when I use other sites). What I don't understand is why my move shows up, and my opponent's clock appears to be running, on my screen even though my move has not reached the server. Surely my screen should only show moves that the server has received?
I would renew my membership if this were fixed, but as things are I'm reluctant to go on bashing my head against this brick wall - let alone pay for the privilege.

This more than just a lag. It's known out there and becoming a hack. To those who know how to do it right (and I just got burned two games in a row by two different players, one taunting me), they know just when the lag problem means that the clock is counting their turn. The auto-resign in 60 seconds is not countin down. They can burn two or three minutes. Then suddenly the game updates as though My last move never happened unless I refresh. When I do all of the time passed is suddenly deducted

I've written two emails regarding time loss issues. Always play 5 min games and a bit back I began losing on time in a strange manner. 2, 3 or 4 minutes on clock and then instant loss on time, almost alway from a winning position. Was told that it indeed looked fishy and they'd lmk what's up. Reply never came and problem is worse than ever 3 out of 5 games ending this way. 2 more subsequent emails have gone unanswered so I guess it's off to another server
I was playing on my iPad five minutes ago. I played two minute blitz. I had a checkmate in two moves. I had eight seconds. My appointment had four. I was waiting for him to play. When he played , I went to move my piece, I lost on time. I don't know where my eight seconds disappeared. I have a very fast connection and the mate was very clear i did not need to think ; just move. This has happened to me more than once on my iPad.
I just lost a game on time after 30 moves. This is odd since I actually played my 31st move, and my opponent's clock then appeared to be running.
