No recommence game on disconnect?

I get disconnected for no longer than 5 seconds and after logging back in there is no option to recommence the game. In my case it is an intermittent ISP issue and has nothing to do with the software or browser etc.

I have read so many threads about people being annoyed about their disconnections and I can assure you that they wouldn't be nearly half annoyed if they simply had the option to continue the game. From a programming point of view this should be a very simple thing to do

On every chess site I have been a member of there has been a way to continue a live game in the case of a disconnection and in fact on all of them it has just been automatic. Why would I pay money to subscribe to a site that has overlooked one of the fundamentals of an online game?
Please tell me that I have overlooked something and there is a way to continue a game.

Did you read the disclaimer at the top of the page, which clearly states the possible outcome:

PLEASE READ! DO NOT USE LIVE CHESS unless you understand that it is still a work-in-progress. You MAY be disconnected randomly. You MAY experience lag. You WILL be disappointed if you expect anything else.

I don't understand why a person would be a member of other chess sites yet still play on this one. Especially when they say that the other sites are better.

Obviously, its a bit hard to mis! The issue is not about being disconnected it is about not having the option to continue in the event of disconnection.

Maybe the disclaimer should state that in the case of a disconnection you will automatically forfeight your game.

I have freinds that are already members of this site and they asked me to join so I can play them without them all having to join another site. Pretty simple really. Have you got anything else to offer to this thread?

Yea I have something to add. Get a better ISP and stop whining.

Wow is this a chess site or a checkers site? Typical of a low IQ'ed person.

Any Admins care to comment ie. "you can expect this to be writen into the program in x number of months"? Or will you just leave this thread to the trolls?

You failed at writing correctly. It's <<friends>> and not <<freinds>> like you wrote it. It's not that hard. Have you got anything else to offer to this thread, apart from grammatical errors?

 Well for one, your not.

The developers are aware of the problem and in fact they did attempt to patch in this functionality--but it's not so simple as it first appears. They're as we speak in the midst of doing a major rewrite of live chess. I don't know the current eta.

Read the membership page and you'll discover dozens of fine reasons to subscribe to this site--note, live chess is not listed as one of them.

You failed at writing correctly. It's <> and not <> like you wrote it.

A spelling mistake on the internet, imagine that!

Btw,on what site is reconnect possible?

The Internet Chess Club has the best reconnect functionality. The game becomes automatically adjourned until both players are online again and then gives you the option to continue play. You also have the option to only seek games that either have the disconnect protection or does not.
