The 50 Move Rule

In my live game against BIOMO1, the last pc that was taken off the board was at move 70. We continued playing till the move 125 untill my clock ran out of time.

IE we played 55 moves without any pcs taken off the board.

According to my humble knowledg, this should be a draw.

But I was considered lost on time control.

Pls note & advise.

You're right in that that is technically a draw, but it is such a specialized type of draw that I think on an internet site such as this, like 3-fold repitition draws, you have to claim your draw by hitting the draw button.

50 Move Rule means that no pawn was moved AND no piece was taken for 50 moves.

The game in question did meet the requirements for 50-move-rule eligibility. For a 55-move window, no capture was made, and no Pawns were on the board.

However, a draw by 50-move rule is not automatic, like draws by stalemate or insufficient material. When drawing by 50-move rule or by threefold repetition, the draw must be claimed by one of the players, or else the game will continue.
