Time running out very fast

I had 15 seconds in hand and when it was my turn, I lost the game by timeout in just 1 second. This has happened few times in the past but I used to ignore it as one-off event. Does anyone faced the same issue and how did you fix it ?

Time flies when you are having fun.

Yes, when we are concentrating, minutes evaporate.

I have seen 100 similar posts alleging some sort of server error or interference but nobody has ever documented it with any evidence.

At any rate, the place to discuss it is The Cheating Forum.

Raghav play a 1 minute go in settings on premove than when it's your opponent s turn you touch a piece or a pawn it would be red than if you move it when your opponent s turn then when your opponent moves than which piece you move when your opponent s turn it would moved in a second

What? How is he supposed to understand that?

I am guessing that you believe that if you try to move a piece that already has a pre-move set, the time charge changes.  I don't think that is true.

This is one of the most amusing comments I have ever read on this site. I'm guessing English isn't your first language.

But network lag cannot be in the range of 10-15 seconds. I faced the same issue today again throughout my game. Even if I move the piece instantly, at least 10 seconds were getting subtracted. I tried lichess and it is much better and I will stick to it. So it is proved that it is not my network's fault. Bye bye chess.com

It’s a very valid concern for which I’ve never gotten a good answer. On the Site-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named, same computer, same Internet, similar traffic, I’m getting close to no lag. Here, it’s costing me 10-15 seconds in a 1|0 game, and I binge play on both sites. Are you telling me that my ISP’s selective and only decides to fail on my end when I’m playing here?

Posts about time running out are valid. I have a dozen screenshots and links to games where you can see my time will lose several seconds when my opponent plays a move or just disappear. I'm certain its server lag as it tends to happen around 5-6am or pm especially and also sometimes around 8-10. I just go over to the other service during these times as Chess.com never seems to address this issue except to blame the user. I thought it would go away as a member but it doesn't which is both equal but less appealing to have a membership. While I do think there may be the occasional time cheater out there, overall I think that the best thing to do if you find yourself losing to time is go play on another popular site and see if you have the same problem. I do this I rarely lose a game to time. Server capacity is probably an issue at times no matter where you play. I do admit it is maddening at times.

It‘s very obvious there is something very wrong with the clock. I even was declared lost on time once with both players still having more then 1 second and I had left the most time....

no you are not dreaming, and no it is not something you can workaround. there is a real issue with unfair clock time outs in bullet chess that makes the bullet chess on this site too frustrating to play . It is all too common to see you have 15 seconds, your opponent has 3 and through some sort of cheating or else some kjnd of bug (or a bad web server) your15 seconds goes to 5 and your opponent is abe to make 10 moves and their time actually increases. it is not an internet problem because this does not happen on the other chess site. i will always be grateful to chess.com for helping me develop my bullet game but i cannot play here because of this bug anymore, its too frustrating. i see the other site finally has all the bells and whistles so i am making the move...

You made that same announcement 50,000 games ago.

Honestly, how you can bad-mouth this site which has provided you with thousands of hours of free entertainment is beyond me.

If you can't understand that the reasons for lag adjustments outweigh the negatives, you might as go elsewhere until you see those same problems exist everywhere.

PawnPusher1536

but the problem is that it doesn’t or doesn’t in such massive quantities

Ever notice how no one ever starts a forum posts complaining about winning due to lag?

So apparently no one has EVER won a game due to lag, bad connection, etc.

Kinda like bad calls only go against your favorite team.

The human race has become a race of whiners, not winners.

Everyone is owed something.

I had that issue once and fixed it by restarting my router. Have also seen issues like this using hotel WiFi

This is becoming worst and worst. Today it's already 5 games, that the clock goes from 10 seconds to none and I receive the message that my move did not reach the server. If this continues, I will not use this website anymore...

It's definitely your own computer's fault or maybe the browser you are using.
