It probably means games where a stronger player gives the weaker player an advantage outright from the starting position. In extreme odds games, one side can start without a queen. For closer games, it might just be a three-move head start

I just noticed that there is a new type of variant in club tournaments called "Odds Chess". However, upon playing, I have not observed any discernible difference from normal chess. Does anyone know what is different about it?
