Why my time always runs out faster (bullet)?

I have lost the count of how many kings I had in my hands but end up losing the game because my time came to an end. I don't take time to think; I just move and yet, my time is always lower the my opponent's. Is there a rule I don't know? Like, lose a queen, lose 10s? Thanx in advance.

lose a queen and lose 10s? who the hell put that in your head?! you spend 10s on a move, you lose 10s on the clock! and you have lost count of how many kings you have had in your hand? what do you mean?

By "kings in my hand" I mean games virtually won. I don't know man, I don't take more than 5sec to think and I'm always out of time.

It’s called “lag” basically if ur connection is bad enough u won’t see ur opponent’s moves until like 5 seconds after they make them. I have trouble with it too.

You actually have a decent amount of recent bullet wins. In fact, from your recent bullet games, only a very small minority are from you losing due to running out of time.

Anyways. https://www.chess.com/live/game/2721444982?username=niemandasked

Judging from that, you lost because, yes, you never took more than 5 seconds to think... HOWEVER, you ran out of time because your opponent never took more than 3 seconds to think. The answer is very simple: you don't move fast enough.

Do you lose time dragging pieces, or lose time thinking?

Yeah, your opponent is using an engine

You're a K - play like a K - don't play like kanthi - play like Kasparov, Karpov, Korchnoi etc ...............

I can’t believe people still come back to this months later

It's because of the infamous "platform balancing algorithm". ALL online games are affected by this, because all online gaming platforms have it implemented. In a few words, if the algorithm has "decided" it would be better you lose one or more games, you will lose them. And it is designed in a way you don't usually notice anything strange happened...

Are u sure? I don’t think so

Thank you for your answers. Yes, it was the platform balancing algorithm combined with the quantum network speed affect the timing. Upgrading it from the settings will help.

Yes studied the games of the other K, like Kasparov, Karpov, and Korhcnoi in one night. What do you know? Rating went back up to about 200 more in a couple hours.

Lol. Jokes. tongue.png Don't take it personally. I moved to another place by myself for masters. Got a regular speed internet, but I'm only one using it. I don't know it that made a difference. Went online to play chess. Felt like had a bit more time. Moves were coming easier. Didn't care anymore about rating. I was winning games more easily. Made gained back about 175 rating in a couple hours.

Ask chess.com for a 'special membership' and things should improve. It will cost you though...

I have the same problem.  playing 1 minute, opponent doesn't move for a while, i move fast, i lose on time, they have like 29 seconds left.   no matter how fast i move i lose on time.

m_connors

I don't play any form of speed chess. This answer is based on either life events when "clock watching". It is relativity - when it's your move the clock moves 10 times faster than when it's your opponents. wink.png

timolle

its time rigged....i have the timer on my iphone and its so sick how the site rigg the time.

Why the hell rigg a chessclock . guess the favor players,, somtimes me sometimes the other player.

Do you do premove?
gashlycrumb

i premove like a mofo.  i get about 12 seconds ahead of the guy.  he doesn't move that fast.  i don't take long on each move.   next thing i know i lose on time.   doesn't happen every time, but happens a lot.

Clver_Cat

I understand now. I think it does have to do with chess.com premium users getting more time maybe try using another website

I just played a game, using premove and waiting for the guy to make his move, i somehow ran out of time.

just played another game, did a premove, waited for him to move, while my premove happened i watched the opponent's time go up a second.  he gained time!
