I think this was the first chess puzzle I ever saw. I think I was as amazed at the concept of having a chess puzzle as the content of the puzzle itself. Ah to be young.

Wow... I saw it right away but I wouldn't call that easy!

point taken on board. I apologize if you are a chess beginner and you come accross this thread thinking you will get an easy puzzle as I am told this is not one. Do not be disllusioned with your skills.

Simply, the idea of sacrificing the queen is something a beginner would not comprehend, since it's always reinforced to be the most important piece (besides the King).

yeah, not beginner but not hard... i found it quite nice though...
I love making puzzles where it envolves queen sacks or promotions... hence why I have made 4 puzzles so far called Joker's Puzzle and each one has dealt with promotions and sacrafices even when you are down material.
