i think its a skewer, im rubbish at chess terms. i don't actually study it at all, i just tried it and found that i was naturally ok at it. so don't pester me =D

Whis

The first is discovered check.  The second is a knight fork.  For a skewer, think of a shish kabob stick with the vegetables and meat and stuff on it.  Now think of for instance a bishop controlling a diagonal with a bunch of rooks on it.

Lord-Chaos

its not a discovered check, the bishop you move is the bishop that checks. the king isnt a rook.

Whis

BxN+ is a discovered check.

Lord-Chaos

oh right, fine, a skewer, a discovered check and a fork. i always get the title wrong.
