Chess Calendar Puzzle
This is a 'professional' twomover puzzle. When the solution to such a puzzle is published they only give you the first white move and let you figure out the rest. There are commonly many black defenses and they are countered by different white checkmate moves. Here the full solution is:
1. Qd5 (threat Re8#)
1. ... Kxe7 2. d8=Q#
1. ... Bxd7 2. Qxd7#
1. ... Qxe7+ 2. Ne6#
1. ... Qd6 2. Qg8#
1. ... Qe5+ 2. Rxe5#
Note that black has different defenses as well but always one of the 6 listed checkmate moves works against it.
Almost works 1. Qe6? but black 1. ... Qe5+! refutes it.

I have the same calendar and I noticed for 6 Jan it’s mate in 3, not 2. According to the instructions it’s always mate in 2. Guess it’s an error, but just a heads up.
I am a bit confused as to how I am to interpret black's moves as well, or just ignore that and do two white moves?
