I know many of you have probably seen this before, but for those of you who haven't it should be a good one.

Anybody know?

Haven't seen it before, and probably never will, as it seems highly unlikely (if not impossible) that such a position would ever occur in practical play. However, White seems to win easily enough:

BENCHMARK NOTICE: The above position has now officially appeared for the 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000th time on the forums of Chess.com. Not only is this a site record for appearances of any single position, but it is also the second-highest number of appearances for a chess position on any  site!

@tonydal: Joking?? About what?! The exclams on a6/b6/c6 ? Please clarify.  Laughing

I remember this puzzle from the 1960's in at least four different books.  Fred Reinfeld and Irving Chernev were fond of it.

White to move wins with b6.  Black to move wins with b6

Put White's King on g1, and Black to move can only draw with b6.

I'm not really sure who "us" refers to, but that was still pretty funny nonetheless!

this actually occur in one of my games, except it was my move(black) and i played b6. :)
