Helpmate in 3 = in 3 turn = 1.black 2.white black 3.white# over ?
I just know helpmate but I interest with it.

Nop, helpmate in 3 means 1. black 2. white black 3. white black 4. white#
That numbering is a little confusing though. Basically each side moves 3 times, and white on his third move delivers checkmate.
Correct (but you mean 2... Rf1+ I believe).
Now it's time for someone to post a new original helpmate! I have another but I rather wait and give someone else a chance.
Hmm.. where are all the composers? :P I'm probably just being impatient. But you can even post an easy helpmate in 1. As long as it is not flawed and the solution is unique, go right ahead!
Edit: oops there's a flaw in my next puzzle. I'm fixing it.
Shoopi, I'm interested in helpmate problems. Thanks for this thread, I'm working on my first ever helpmate problem.
Asorski: Great! can't wait to see one.
Vulpes, I don't think you understand what is a helpmate. Your diagram does not say anything (whether helpmate or checkmate and how many moves), and it is white to move instead of black.
It looks like mate in two after 1. Ng6 Kh6 2. h8=Q/R#. But this is no helpmate.
Here, I'll post another helpmate in 3:
I am not sure if I understood the concept. Does it have to be exactly 3 moves or can it be less?
1...Rf8 2.Rd1 Bxg3#?
In helpmates, it is black to play but white mates black ^^
From Wikipedia:
A helpmate is a type of chess problem in which both sides cooperate in order to achieve the goal of checkmating Black. In a helpmate in n moves, Black moves first, then White, each side moving n times, to culminate in White's nth move checkmating Black. (In a helpmate in two for example, sometimes abbreviated h#2, the solution consists of a Black move, a White move, a second Black move, then a second White move, giving checkmate.) Although the two sides cooperate, all moves must be legal according to the rules of chess.
See my first puzzle in this thread as an example - the solution is on post 4#.
It is probably flawed since it's my first attempt but here it is, helpmate in 4 moves.
Edit: It was flawed :D
I think I got it :D
1...Ba7 2.Rxa7 Rd8 3.0-0 Rf8 4.Re1#
This isn't flawed, this is the solution. White's last move is only labeled four, but it is actually his third move. Great!
Vulpes, that's better, but your puzzle is still flawed as it has a magnitude of helpmates in 2, whereas there should only be one in the shortest amount of moves.
For example black can start with 1... Nh5, white can continue with 2. Qd5/e4/e2 black plays whatever 2... a6 and white mates 3. Qf7#. You're getting close but there has to be only one unique solution (for both sides). It isn'y easy though, I know. here, I'll post another puzzle. This isn't mine though:
Help mate in 3

Oh, I should have assumed that. Mind if I try again?
I had made a puzzle but it was flawed I wasn't talking about my solution :D
Oh I see now :) At least it's nice to know that there is another person who is trying to compose a helpmate =)
And Vulpes you may try again, but remember it isn't easy to have only one working solution, good luck :)
Hey everyone!
In this thread I challenge everyone to solve and compose helpmate puzzles. There are a few rules which are:
1. Only one helpmate puzzle at a time.
2. Please post your puzzles in diagram form (not puzzle form).
3. Once the current helpmate puzzle has been solved, anyone can post a new one!
(As a reminder, in helpmate black moves first, and both sides cooperate so that white mates black).
So I'll start with a helpmate in 3, not too hard. Please solve, post new puzzles and have fun:
