โก๐ How I make Puzzles ๐โก

yeah i was hoping that you would giveme a free award if i solved puzzles
I probably will make some more puzzles soon, but I just though it would be good to make a detailed explanation on how I make puzzles ๐

I thought this post was about how to come up with ideas for puzzle design. Do you make these puzzles up on your own, or do you get them from an outside source?

i think he/she gets the puzzles from his/her games
Not always, if they are from my games though, then Iโll say that in the titleย

Hello everyone! Today I'm just going to tell you how I make my puzzles so that you can make some of your own! ๐
*Disclaimer* there are other ways to do this as well, this is just how I do it ๐๐.
I start by going to the chess.com analysis (learn > analysis). You should see this:ย
Click the "setup" button with the plus sign by it. You should see this now:
Drag the pieces on and off to form your puzzle! You can also click the small garbage can icon to delete all the pieces from the current position. Make sure to select "white to move" in the drop down menu if white is moving first. Here is an example of a puzzle you could make:
Click load, and all that editing stuff will go away! This is what it should look like now:
You can now play the moves of your puzzle! It should look something like this, with the solution (
b8+
e8
xe8#) showing on the right side:
So how do we make this into a puzzle now? Click the download button underlined above, and you should see this:

Seems complicated, right? It's not too hard, just copy the text in the box with "PGN" over it. Now lets head over to the forums (connect > forums) and post the puzzle! To do this, click the "new topic" button to the right of the screen:
You should now see something like this:
As a quick side note, always make sure to change the topic from "General Chess Discussion" to "More Puzzles" in the drop down menu. Otherwise, your puzzles may be removed or placed in the "off-topic" section. ๐ But back to the puzzle! Select the small board icon under the topic, you should see something like this:
Click the "Load from PNG" button, and you should see this:
Paste the PNG for the puzzle into the box:
Then click the "load button" and the position will now appear on the screen:
Finally, click the "theme" button, and put a check mark in the "puzzle" box:
if you want the puzzle to be played with the black pieces, then you would want to check the "flip board" box as well ๐. Now click the "insert" button, and you should see this:
Change the topic to "More Puzzles", add a title, and you're ready to post! Here is an example of what you might want:
Now you're done! Click the green "Post" button and share your puzzles with the chess.com community! Once again, there are other ways to make puzzles, this is just how I like to do it ๐.
I hope you found this helpful! ๐
