Close, but you have 9 white pawns, so it is not a solution. The king can also take the f4 pawn after any move, so it isn't stalemate.
Inevitable Stalemate Challenge
Now, this is a simple challenge. Let's make it a bit spicier. Not only should every white move place black in a stalemate, but also black should not already be in stalemate if on move!
In the example below black could play ..Kh1 but no more after white plays one of his 14 legal moves. Can you increase the number of 14 stalemate variations?
The stalemate challenge is a challenge I created where you, playing as white, must set up a position so that ANY move you make leaves your opponent in stalemate. The rules -
- The white king must not be in check (to prevent solutions like this)
- Your solution may not include more pieces of a specific type than you start out with. For example, your solution can't have two white Queens, three white Knights, or two white light-squared Bishops.
- You may not include more than 4 pawns of any color
- The black king can not be trapped by his own pieces like here:
- You get points based on how many pieces you have in your position. (9 points for including a Queen, 5 points for including at least one Rook, 3 points for including at least one Bishop, 3 points for including at least one Knight, and 1 point for including at least one Pawn of each color, for a maximum of 21 points per solution.)
Here is an example solution that I created (21 points)
