As many are aware the Daily Mail is a middle-market newspaper, more intelligent than the "red top" tabloids, less pretentious and establishment than the so-called broadsheets.

So you might think the Daily Mail chess puzzle, might be some light breezy thing to get through in between sups of coffee, a minor challenge at best, like most other newspaper chess puzzles. It's actually incredibly hard. My record of actually getting all of the lines right through until the end was getting so incredibly bad, sometimes I would get a lot of the solution but not see it through until the end, so I decided this week I was going to get it no matter what.

I'd be embarrassed to say how long I spent on it but in the end I could have sworn on my life that either this weird move was the answer or there was no answer... and it was wrong.

Try to get this, and don't spoil the answer for others please.
