Hope you enjoy... I realize that there were many more ways to mate

Find all 14 checks leading to mate

26... Bd7# is mate in three instead of 14. So why should we take 14 moves if we can mate in three?

And of course 25... Qh3# is even faster lol.

I agree with phobetor, that Bd7 stood right out to me as a simple mate. Was it your aim to see how many consecutive checks you could put your opponent in before mate? If not the game could had been finished a few times

Yes this ia mate in 2 moves instead of 14. big crab

Can someone explain to me how 25.Qh3 isn't mate???

redblack_redemption
it is mate. that post confused me because I was looking for h3 backwards.  25... Qh3 is mate.

I guess the point of this puzzle is to take as much time giving checks before giving a check-mate

I know I could have mated earlier, but I thought it would be fun to play a little "cat and mouse" game instead of ending it sooner, since it wansn't a "serious" game.

This being said, I could have made even more than 14 checks, for example, I could have played 39 Rd7 and only mated on move 40, but that felt like a "cheap" way to increase the number of checks

Thanks for the advice. The thing is that I'm not very good at thinking many moves ahead. Therefore, I found this to be a quite decent opportunity to practise just that. Even if I trew away my win, it really didn't mattered to me, since it wasn't a competitive game
