NEW CHESS PUZZLES UPDATE!!! What do you think about it?

The feature has been on Android since early in 2023. I did 25,000+ puzzles in the months after it released, finishing the first go round.

It's extremely annoying to have the guy's avatar telling me everything that's happening. It adds nothing and it's distracting. How do I turn it off?
I liked the progression of the old one. Felt like a standard was set and reached. Also you gotta punish for error or what is a rating at all. Not a fan honestly. Love the site though. Really do.

You're most likely missing the reason. While there are some problem tactics, the vast majority are accurate.
Can you provide a link to the one you're referring to?
If it's this one, the knight is pinned and the solution is checkmate

You still get rated on the puzzles, it just doesn't show the rating progression.

You can turn it off and do normal rated puzzles without the path progression

That's not currently an option but a setting is coming to disable it

The puzzles being presented are the exact same with both methods. If you don't want the new one you can click the settings icon when in the feature and turn it off; for the Puzzle points/tiers feature.

The tier feature has been around for some time now and I find it okay. The problem is the new avatar guy, makes it look like a practice round, although it's rated and that guy is distracting. Imagine having this guy commentate every chess game you play... Also why would I not directly see my rating change? It's a rated puzzle in the end.

I agree and prefer that to show as well.

If you are on the puzzle point feature you click the settings icon at the top
Then toggle off the option Collect Puzzle Points
And save
If you're just getting the coach then an option to disable that should be available soon
