Puzzle Score increase/decrease calculation

Hello Chess.com Community, I'm a huge fan of the Chess Puzzles on this website, so every day after I do my daily puzzle I do the free puzzles I'm allowed to do. I had my Puzzle Score at over 1000 before, but I keep dropping harshly in score whenever I fail on the first try. So I'm quite interested in knowing how the score drops and increases are calculated. Here is an example: Puzzle 1/3: iirc it was a M2, but I saw an unrelated, undefended piece and took that instead. This obviously resulted in a fail. -15 Points. (Dropped below 1000) Puzzle 2/3: iirc that was about promotion, so roughly 8 consecutive steps were played and I played them correctly. +10 Points. Puzzle 3/3: Simple M2 with Rook & Queen combination. Solved it in less than 2 seconds. +5 Points (Back above 1000points) How come solving 2 puzzles equals loosing one? Also I have had really difficult puzzles at puzzle score 990 that drop me even further than 15 points and I find this quite punishing. So far I deduced that time is seemingly not a factor, because me solving puzzles fast doesn't result in a higher increase in points. Solving a puzzle partially however results in a smaller decrease I have noticed. It might be, that blunders result in a bigger score decrease than suboptimal moves, I theorize. If someone has the answer or at least a clue, I'd be happy to hear it. Bottom Line: I'm invested in puzzles and the score system, but this isn't a pain point to me. I understand that I drop in score so that I can learn from easier puzzles before I can keep my ground on 1000. I'm far from a GM I know that :)

Thank you very much, this is quite insightful. A screenshot in there reveals that there is such a thing as an expected time for completion... So I guess my leftover question would be: Does the time you take impact your puzzle score? Also does partially solving a puzzle reduce the amount of points you loose? At the same time, does the magnitute of the mistake make a difference? Based on the post it seems like none of those have an influence... Also I'm confused why this forum doesn't preserve my formating... it must be hard to read my text, I'm sorry.

Hello!! Ok so my puzzle rating is falling . Now that not be a problem but the problem is when I take 1 hint on a 3 or 4 step puzzle and solve it but I am still not getting the rating points like i instead of a +5 get -16 likeee.... İt's not like a 1 step puzzle i take one hint and solve the rest but it takes away ratings sooo... Kindly fix this ....... İ would be thankful.
