my friend accidentally knocked someone down with their car. it gets worse, the person died in hospital, but they put down as covid. kinda lucky in the end.

There are are least five "lost" letters from Old English.  Some are still found in Icelandic and Faroese.

Thorn (Þ) th sound as in  the word THick 

Eth (ð) th sound as in the word THe, can also have a dh sound

Yogh (Ȝ) soft g or gh

Wynn (Ƿ) represents the w sound, replaced by the Latin uu/vv double u

Ash (Æ) now commonly written as ae, like in the word Aetna (the volcano)

A little less common is letter Ethel (œ), written today as oe, as in the word onomatopœia
