BEST LOOK YET at Harley Quinn and Suicide Squad Roaming the Set in Costume!

Director David Ayer may have just revealed the full Suicide Squad cast photo on Twitter yesterday, but we're already getting non-promotional shots of the squad on set!

For those who missed it, or for those who just want another gander, here's the assembly of Slipknot, Captain Boomerang, Katana, The Enchantress, Rick Flagg, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc, and El Diablo.

Considering the sheer number of characters on Team Force X—not to mention all the secondary characters not on the team —I'm welcoming any and all photos from set that give us a better look at them. Yeah, the movie may be over a year away, but we need our early fix, dammit!

Based on these images from Just Jared, we can imagine how some of the cast will appear in motion. Take a look below!

Deadshot

Like in the promotional image, Will Smith's Deadshot isn't wearing his signature laser-eye or tactical helmet. After Will Smith revealed a complete photo wearing the helmet, it's clear that he gets it eventually.

Will he become injured on the squad's mission leading him to a functional eye? That'd be my guess, meaning these onset photos are from an earlier scene in the film.

Even without his advanced eye, Suicide Squad will most likely still present Deadshot as an expert marksman boasting a "never miss" track record. I'm pretty happy with his overall look, especially with the wide array of weapons he's carrying.

Killer Croc

Is he wearing a jacket made out of crocodile leather? Please let there be a joke in the movie somewhere.

I've seen some complaints about Killer Croc not being tall enough, but I'm pretty impressed by the make-up job. He may not immediately read as "lizard," but his appearance does come from a disfiguring skin disorder, so I think it makes sense. He could still be repressing this condition or trying to stop its growth, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how Croc looks onscreen.

Captain Boomerang

Jai Courtney honed his muttonchops for Captain Boomerang, who has an affinity for—you guessed it!—boomerangs. I totally missed the fact that his track jacket says "Captain" on it, which may be a little on the nose, but it totally fits with the character.

To his right is Slipknot, played by Adam Beach.

Harley Quinn

And finally we come to the most anticipated member of the Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn.

Margot Robbie continues to be an inspired casting choice for Harley Quinn. She's got the perfect face for the character, and I can't wait to see how she handles the voice (I trust her ability with accents after The Wolf of Wall Street).

As for her appearance, they've run with the red/blue/white color scheme that the New 52 Harley is rocking in the comics.

As much as I love the clown/harlequin costume from the animated series, I can definitely see why Ayer wouldn't have gone that route. Having Harley in street clothes (at least for a little bit) may help ground her in this realistic universe, but we'll have to see how that translates on camera.

The rumor is that Harley will have costume changes throughout the movie, so this may not be her final form.

That "Puddin" necklace is certainly a stand-out, and I'd be willing to wager that the "Daddy's Lil Monster" shirt is going on sale by next summer.

Some of the tattoos look like they're stick 'n' poke, as if she did them herself. I can certainly get behind that, but I wonder if that reignites the possibility for Joker's tattoos.

One interesting aspect to Harley's film costume is the amount of references to Mr. J. The zipper is the letter "J," her shirt's slogan, and the back of her jacket says "Property of Joker." This would definitely be a deviation from the comic book, which sees Harley and Joker most definitely on the outs at the time of Suicide Squad.

While I'm mostly digging the look, I just hope they make Harley a fully realized character and not just an appendage of the Joker.

Lastly, might this be Steve Trevor?

I previously reported that Scott Eastwood would not be playing the role of Steve Trevor (military intelligence officer and Wonder Woman's love interest) in the DC Cinematic Universe.

While there has been no official news to the contrary, some fans are wondering if this Eastwood's military garb in these photos might signal that he is indeed playing Trevor.

It's a possibility, but this is also a movie with plenty of military personnel, so I'm not fully behind that theory yet.

I still can't believe we still have 15 months until this movie hits theaters, but at least until then, there will be plenty of glimpses.
