Chess.com isn't meant to be a off topic site anyways so the bots checking it shouldn't be a threat to us members.

Chess.com was originally launched with the purpose of providing a socializing site for chess playing people.

And are not fool proof.  And how is using a vpn supposed to prevent staff from seeing things you post on the site?

Yes, if there is a reason to check them, staff can. But they're not going to do it without reason.

Can they even check deleted messages?

If they are deleted on both sides, I don't know, but I'm guessing not.

you have to exchange encryption key pairs with your vpn provider, so communication can happen. which means anything you send to internet first goes to your vpn provider and they log all informations.. and they can be forced to disclose any information by authorities.

there are many holes in operating system layers as well.. especially in windows. microsoft - nsa works well together.

there is almost no privacy against high authorities..

Then how do you check when someone is abusive and deleting his messages after that.

it must be deleted on both sides. if someone sends you a that kind of message, just don't delete it.
