That is the whole reason for this thread. Someone maliciously hijacking a thread with spam for the sole purpose of getting it locked. And, of course, no action taken against that member.
Ideally comments that violate the community policy are reported. I would rather warn users and remove comments than punish the creator of a topic by locking it. Sometimes it’s a temporary lock. If the creator of the topic also violates the community policy I will likely warn and lock. If any users continue to violate the community policy after warnings they may get temporarily muted (or worse).
Warning to all… there may be cases when bumping topics may be considered spam, meaningless content or excessively promoting a club.
i don’t think posting about doing pushups for each comment is inherently spam. Counting threads are considered spam and users were warned. Topic creators also have some ability to moderate… if they block users it prevents them from posting on their topics (such as if others try to maliciously get a topic locked). Some users have sat by and watched with their popcorn while I muted others that tried to get topics locked. A topic could get locked if it is felt the intention is to try and get others muted.
