If you fancy having a go at another abstract strategy game you might like to try one I've invented using just a pack of normal playing cards.
It's called Battle Ace and involves moving, stacking and attacking with your cards on a "board" marked out with spare cards. Card values give their melee ability, face cards (Royals) have an ability of 10 and can move more spaces than number cards. Cards can be combined into stacks (with limits) to total their melee abilities. The game stops when you take the opposing King or reach their back line with your King which gives you bonus points. The winner is the player who has taken the highest total of opponent melee abilities + bonus points.
I think the stacking mechanism and a random starting layout makes the game really challenging but I'd love to hear what you strategy gurus think of it.
A "how to play" video is here (sorry, it's done by me rather than Dice Tower etc) and I've just started a Facebook group with written rules and information.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you can give (like can you break the game) and have fun!
