Hi all,

Anyone seen the old 70s episode of Columbo “The most dangerous game” where the killer is a chess GM? It’s a good episode with some interesting if somewhat vague chess references. Entertaining nevertheless. Worth a watch.

I watched it a week ago. Guy was hard of hearing

I just watched it too. I’m a Big Columbo fan. (As well as being a chess fan obviously)😉. Interesting, Laurence Harvey played the part of the hard of hearing GM murderer and died a few months after the episode of stomach cancer aged just 45. He was in a lot of pain during filming apparently as well.

I will definitely watch it

It was also filmed in 1973 and features an American versus a Russian. Definitely a nod towards the famous Fisher vs Spassky encounter less than a year earlier.

Pedro Armendáriz was dealing with cancer while filming a James Bond movie.  He died not long after by suicide.
