Complete proof that earth is egg-shaped

Sort:

So first we have three possible shapes of earth:

  1. flat
  2. spherical
  3. egg-shaped

Then we get to proofs.

First, let's prove earth is not flat.

Assume earth is flat. Since we don't see earth spinning, it can't be spinning as we would see the sun 'moving' much quicker. So we have:

  1. Flat earth doesn't spin.

Then we get to the light. Since earth doesn't spin, the sky would be visible forever 24 hours on one hemisphere, but it would be 24 hours night on the other. Earth is not flat.

Now we assume earth is spherical. But the gravity is different wherever you live, so it can't be spherical. If it was spherical, all places would have the same gravity (maybe 9.8 meters/s?)

So we get that earth is egg-shaped.

I’m pretty sure that gravity is based on altitude, so that kinda refutes your point - although the earth is shaped like an egg, but it has the fancier term “oblate spheroid”.

Not only that.the gravity is based on time (9.8m*seconds per second). However, the gravity is also based on the mass and distance

The earth is neither flat nor egg shaped. But it's not a perfect sphere either. This is simply because of the landforms earth has. ( plateaus, mountains, hills , ect)

Um, what how is gravity different? It holds us down no matter what size you are.

I said the earth, not the objects on it!

Got this from wiki

Since the Earth is flattened at the poles and bulges at the Equator, geodesy represents the figure of the Earth as an oblate spheroid. The oblate spheroid, or oblate ellipsoid, is an ellipsoid of revolution obtained by rotating an ellipse about its shorter axis.

Listen, either way the earth is not egg shaped. If it was, the equator, the north, and south pole would be in a different spot.

Do you not realize that mountains are not an object?

Fun4F1nn

An object is something you can carry or hold.

What if the sun is not as big as we thought of it. The night and day time still able to realized with the smaller sun.

Are you stupid? Look it up on the internet.

ANOK1

should we round off the poles so we don't need the words oblate sphere anymore

The hypothesis that the tiny black holes spread in space is a long time ago be delivered.

That’s not on the thread’s topic. Make your own thread about black holes, Big Bang, or whatever.

Yeah this is about what the shape the earth is. Quit going off topic.

This is what you think the earth looks like?

If the earth is egg shaped, that's one hell of a chicken that layed it.

I don’t get it. What about that is about the shape of earth?
