Football?

This topic might be controversial but what's the point of playing football?!  Unlike Chess, it's more of a team effort but still but still ronaldo is getting paid hundreds of millions of dollars but Magnus barely has a net worth of 10 million. Why people watch football?

a lot of reasons:

1. football compared to chess is for most people super easy to understand

2. football has a lot more action/exciting moments per game. every few minutes someone shoots on goal, in chess it can take like 20 minutes just to spectate an expected move

3. football is promoted by a lot of partners and gets more attention on TV

4. best reason for last: I like football 😂 all sports are just a matter of opinion but I like the team effort, action and fun of shooting at goal xD the only sports I dislike are fighting sports amd other violent sports

do not get me wrong, it's skill and I respect all the fighters hard working, but hurting each other as sport makes no sense to me

And Austraian rules football (AFL) is the most exciting of all. Sometimes the teams can score around 45 goals in the game.

Football is a dynamic team sport that is easy on the eye. Because of these things it is the most popular sport in the world by far (3.5 billion people watch it to some capacity). It has a huge fan base, so a lot of money goes into it. That is why footballers are paid a lot, even those who are not world class quality can be wealthy.

On the other hand, chess is not easy on the eye for an average viewer. It is a popular game, and many people play it, but the potential for profit is just not that great (compared to the money machine called football), so even the best players in the world will not be super rich.

What is the point of doing anything in this world? Football was my first love, ever since I was a kid I would kick a ball, dribble, shoot freekicks, do some freestyle and so on. Also fans and cheering up for your club is so fun experience that you can't compare it to other sports. I watch it because I enjoy the feeling after your team scores a goal, wins games, qualifies for big tournaments and eventually brings a trophy.

I once checkmated with a king on lichess. That kind of feeling...it was sort of epic. Does football produces that kind of high? Yeah, and I kind of agree. Personalities are either overrated or underrated.

I'm not watching football again until the morons stop "taking the knee" to the racist hate group BLM.
