And who is Mr. Putin?
great mysteries. who knows...

the beginnings of the universe? Dunno
who really killed jfk? Organized crime composed of mobsters and politicians (is there a difference anymore?)
where is jimmy hoffa? Several places, I think
how were the pyramids built? given how long they've lasted it was obviously not by modern methods
who was d.b. cooper? a man with b*lls of steel
jack the ripper? being a rank amateur Ripperologist, my money is on Charles Allen Lechmere

the beginnings of the universe?* Snip*
Didn't matter. Who had the time (or space) anyway?

I read an article a few months ago stating that they think they know where Hoffa was buried - under a parking lot in an industrial area in NJ. They were waiting for gubment approval to dig it up. I haven't kept up with the progress...

there are a lot of things we question.
You forgot to mention one. Where did @AlCzervik come from? I know that is a question no one could answer, not even Charles Darwin.

Here's a mystery from near my neck of the woods. It's about some supposed lost gold from the US Civil War. The story goes that the gold was being shipped to Philadelphia when the battle at Gettysburg forced a reroute through some of the most remote areas of PA. The gold was buried for safe keeping but for some reason was never recovered. A team of treasure hunters thought they found it, convinced the FBI to take a look, then things get strange. The FBI apparently detected a large amount of metal underground and started an excavation. According to the treasure hunters they were supposed to be able to observe the excavation and examine any results. Instead, they say the FBI kept them from the site and basically stopped dealing with them entirely. The treasure hunters are now suing the FBI for information.

I've been by the valley in question going to and from backpacking trips in nearby state forests but never in it. That whole area is pretty remote now, it was probably more so in the 1860s.

The FBI needs to stall long enough to launder the money from the sale of the gold...
