GUESS THE BOOK!

Guess the book, a new game I decided to make. Here, I give a small bit of words from a book, such as this:

The crack closed with a snap, and Bilbo and the dwarves were on the wrong side of it! Where was Gandalf?

- The Hobbit, J. R. R. Tolkien

I give the bit and you must guess which book it came from and the author (for an extra challenge, add the chapter, and if that's not enough, page number) . Simple, no?

The prize if you win? - 3 trophies and a small certificate given to you on your notes, and a message if you are one of my friends.

Second place? - 2 trophies and a message if you are my friend, if not, a small congrats on your notes

Third place? - 1 trophy and my signature on your notes (my friends will get a congratulations on their messages)

1.  Have fun!
2.  Please do not use the internet to cheat. It's alright if you have the book that I mentioned, but NO INTERNET!
   
3.  You will have 24-48 hours to respond to the question, anything later will not be qualified.

5.  I will make a standings chart, I will just have to get the names of the people who will play.

 Prizes will be given to you on the day of your win, or the day after.

If I knew many books I would, but not many gathered my interest and those only based spiritually mean anything for me to read. 

I probably wouldn't know any, like I thought your example'd one was Lord of the Rings because that I watched on screen over 2 decades ago almost.

Sorry, but, I just wished to share to you that it was a clever idea, nice intentioned to have a very friendly gathering and I hope it stays that way, no trolls.
