generally speaking, i agree.

however, there is the often trotted out argument that the government will take over the u.s. if the people are unarmed. there is also the saying of a good guy with a gun...

those arguments are not worth considering. kinda like listening to a flat-earther.

it depends on what is being discussed and the context. in that vein, if you think myself and other anti-gun people are anti-american, you are sorely mistaken.

as an american, it is our duty to speak up when we see things that are wrong, and the proliferation of guns as well as the correlated rise in mass shootings is one.

here is an example of "ripping" on america. after many mass shootings there is talk of more gun control. "certain" (wink, wink) politicians will say that now is not the time to discuss gun control because prayers are needed.

More generalizations with no specifics. I'm glad your denial proves my point. I'm just wondering how much ELSE are you gonna post that's not true?  You insult myself, Al Czervik, batgirl, btickler, Elroch, now Harbinger of Doom...... I'm sure there's a few others I missed.

Elroch and Al Czervik are two of the most biased and unreasonable people on Chess.com...

you seem to think that facts and evidence are unreasonable. meanwhile, your pal is calling others dummies, morons, obtuse. he happens to support your whacky views, so, you can't say he is unreasonable.

at the same time you complain about lack of specifics and generalizations, it's exactly what you have done in this topic.

You’re too short sighted or too agenda driven to realize he would have found a way to kill just as many with no guns.

The guy went on a multi town rampage at random just stopping randomly and shooting someone.

It would have taken NO extra effort to stop the car when he saw a lone elderly person or god for big a kid and stab the hell out of then before driving in to the next victim

You can’t stop random evil.

There is so much precedent for recognizing this that you are either unaware of or willfully hide.

China. 31 killed and 140 injured in single knife attack. Kunming.

Anquinq. 6 dead 14 injured. One man with a knife.

Liaoning province. seven people dead and another seven injured.

You’d remove guns, and ONLY from law abiding citizens because criminals aren’t giving you their guns, and the method would change yet the numbers would be identical.

….do you have no shame?

You trot out this idiocy while at the same time bringing up the shooting that just took place.

What stopped that shooting genius? A man with a balloon?

“the proliferation of guns as well as the correlated rise in mass shootings is one.”

Good Christ….yes the proliferation of guns is the reason mass shootings have gone up.

Because half a BILLION guns wasn’t enough…as soon as we hit the BILLION gun mark THATS when these mass shooters thought there was enough guns.

You know what I think correlates to the rise in gun violence?

LEFT WING POLITICS.

It is clear, from every source, there is more leftism in our society now than ever. And more mass shootings. Seems like an open and shut case to me:

More leftist=more mass shootings.

And maybe Whole Foods. It appears they started expanding during this rise also. So we can probably blame that too.

Certainly NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CITIZENRY BEING ON MIND ALTERING MEDICATION INCREASINGLY YOUNGER AND YOUNGER now is it?

Certainly not!

My my, how you do twist things, Ronald... It's quite obvious to anyone who will not remain ignorant deliberately. Let me present you with a scenario: you work hard all of your life, and since you have a little more than the average level of drive and smarts, you manage to build a nice nest egg up through hard work and wise financial decisions. Then you take that money and purchase a house and some land for you and your family, in of course a nice area. Good schools, good neighbors...what could go wrong? Then, the "wonderful government", be it local, state, or federal, does something totally beyond your control and as a result, your neighborhood is overrun by rampant crime. That is what happened to Peet. So stop being willingly ignorant and wise up.

Hehehehehe2024

It's really a sad thing when both sides throw personal insults at each other, or act snide, or twist other's words, or do anything besides politely and reasonably attempting to carry one's point with facts. There was a time in America when people could have reasonable debates without some idiot coming in and bringing the level of the conversation down to that of a grade school lunch room.

B.P.....so what.....Who said success was guarantied to Peet?  You think he's the 1st person who lost money on the sale of a house? Sometimes grabbing all the marbles is not the right thing to do. He made choices & decisions that put him in that situation. Time to grow up,....both of you. Pick yourself's up by your bootstraps and stop blaming other people for your decisions in life on someone else's social media platform.  Boo Hou...cry.png
