(squirrels with guns)

there are people near me that think they should be allowed to shoot squirrels. this is part of the crazy i live in in florida.

which brings me to the shooting at fsu. in every one of these instances there is zeal to find out the race, ethnicity, and background of the shooter. well, the shooter appears to be a young white guy. stepson of a sheriff.

imagine how this would have played out if the shooter was one here on a visa given our current climate of deporting for... whatever.

also consider that our governor destupid recently deputized security officers on college campuses to detain individuals for no reason other than they might be immigrants.

guns?

we'll get to that later...

of note is this from a local station-

"Chief Revell said the handgun found at the shooting scene was the personal handgun of the suspect's shooter's mom. Chief Revel said the gun used to be the deputy's service weapon, but as guns are exchanged, replaced or swapped out, it is common for law enforcement to have the option to purchase their weapon.

In this case, officials said the gun was the shooter's mom's personal handgun."

This is the problem with gun nuts and those pro police no matter what. There is little to no accountability for allowing a kid to have the weapon.

True, but you can't unshoot someone, so in a way it also increases risk if someone I crazy enough

shadowtanuki

If someone is crazy enough, they'll use a knife, a stick, their hands and teeth...

shadowtanuki

Or a concoction of combustible compounds...

your statement is a very general one that evidence does not support. for instance, some will say they want a gun for safety at home. many cops, when presented with this, will tell the homeowner, "get a dog instead".

the discussion of so-called gun "control" typically has many running to their corners and digging in while spouting nonsense. any real discussion of it must be lengthy and there are nuances to take in prior to forming an opinion.

Since it's your thread, you have the privilege to spout all the nonsense you please. Have fun!

I've been bitten and threatened by dogs that were unrestrained before. I have yet to see a gun harm anyone on its own initiative.

The gun is harmless, the person who holds the gun can (usually) be trusted, unless it is pointed at something important or someone.
QueenNinja35
If guns were illegal, then only criminals could obtain them using illegal means, rendering the criminals armed and the citizens undefended

I always set my phaser to 'stun', but I understand that some people feel the need to carry a little more firepower...
