If w is the center, then KI bisects the circle. That means it's in two equal halves.
Because GJ is at a right angle to the bisector that means JI and IG are congruent. Using your theorem, you now know that JH is congruent to HG, so now you set the two expressions equal to each other and solve for X. (I guess you could directly say JH = HG but it just depends on what's on the missing pages or what you guys have been learning.)
But you left out the nature of W or KI... which will necessarily be in the pages you didn't show in the OP. It's also unclear from the picture whether the expressions are labeling arcs, chords, and which... but making the easy assumptions, the answer will be what I gave above.
You said something about adding the segments to find the angles... that's nonsense. First of all what angles?
