On the night of November 28, 1961, the RMS Franconia (a frictional ship) encounterd a boiler explosion which killed 28 crew. 8 more explosions happened and the cruise ship sank with the loss of 2894 people.

Did you mean "fictional" ship? A quick search showed me three ships that have been named RMS Franconia. None of them were built in 1949 and none sank in 1961.
