In a chess game, NEVER RESIGN

This is pretty basic. Pretty much, if you are good at endgames, never resign. If it’s a major advantage to your opponent, don’t resign. You either stalemate and laugh in their face at how stupid they were or you lose. I think I’d rather lose trying. Being able to bait your opponent into a stalemate is the best feeling EVER, and also a very good skill that has to be learnt if you want any hope of increasing ELO. Never resign. Keep fighting until the end. I promise it will reward like, 65% of the time. I’m not saying that you cannot if you are playing casually. You have every right to resign because who cares. But if you want to be able to stalemate or find a breakthrough, or lose actually trying, plus increase ELO, don’t resign. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. If this was a bit rude let me know and I’ll just make sure I don’t make posts like this again. Can’t really delete a post, I’m on mobile 😓.

You weren't rude even one bit
But otherwise I agree with you

dude, you are 101% correct!

People don’t stalemate 65% of the time when they actually know how to play the game beyond how the pieces move.

Whenever someone uses the term "NEVER" he/she is usually wrong.

Trying to bait some very poor players into a stalemate will eventually keep you from improving your chess

If you are playing players who stalemate 65% of the time--then you are playing very weak players  You do not improve your chess that way.

never say never @ponz11 wink.png

However if your goal is to remain as a weak player--then, yes, never resign.

have you ever seen a strong player who never resigns???

generally it is respectful in games with long time controls to resign at the expert and master levels in totally lost positions. essentially, you're wasting your opponent's time. However, in short time controls, its really up to you - I second the argument that especially in bullet sub-2000 there's plenty of opportunities for that last swindle no matter how unsportsmanlike it is.

BIZMARK  Yes in fast time controls a anything goes.

Sorry I meant in classical chess.

people like you probably are bad and lose a +70 advantage within 2 moves. it's not like that for the rest of the world

That was me a couple of days ago… literally had +69 and I blundered mate in 3 smh.

But on a real note he isn’t wrong I had a lost postion and he blundered a draw (granted he was just bad but hey) but overall people don’t mess up lol especially 1600+ even 1500+ when they are up quite a bit.

not resigning or even sometimes not offering a draw may be good (offering a draw is a good choice though). There is always a chance that you win or draw the game. I know tons of examples for this, if any of you disagrees.

However, it waste time if I see I am ready to lost 😂

no matter what there is always a chance. If you're time is running out then you don't even have time to resign

Far as I know with bullet, it requires a quick reflexes and a general understanding of theory. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I also had a feeling I was a bit rude, sorry guys. It’s just whenever I play, I get people into draws, I dunno, a few times? Plus once again, I’d rather lose trying. In higher levels, it is etiquette yea, but I guess this post was sorta directed towards lower ratings, like below 1200. Then again I’m 400 in rapid so what “qualifications” (directed at Asian) do I have? Lol. Also Asian, it would be appreciated if you didn’t slander someone for making a point? There is always a chance, which is why I usually keep playing. You on the other hand, being a bullet player, berate a guy who is 700. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW DISCOURAGING THAT IS? People like you, slandering someone who is clearly below you, in fact insulting anybody is ruder on levels I CANNOT imagine. If you don’t have anything to contribute that stays within boundaries, don’t post here.

Wow Asian. The “I AM VERY SMART GO AWAY” excuse. High IQ does NOT EQUAL you being good at chess. It just means you are good at solving puzzles and such. While it is useful in chess, it’s not a prime reason why people are good at it, contrary to what YOU believe. Also being dumb? That’s your best insult? We are the idiots? We are just posting on forums m8. This is like grade 3 stuff here. I would like you to not post here, unless you have something to contribute that isn’t your “great achievements”. Go stick it where your mouth is, and stop being a inconsiderate idiot who tries to impress people. I understand you have good ratings, but that doesn’t mean you yourself are “qualified” to make any judgement. Leave THAT to the computer or a GM. I don’t see that you are a GM. So shut up. No one is impressed by your ratings, and ESPECIALLY no one likes YOU.

And don’t say “WOW YOU GUYS ARE GOING AGAINST ME YOU’RE RACIST” or anything along those lines. We all hate you for your attitude, your HIGHLY inflated ego and a dumbass alone. You are a sad excuse for a human being. Stop being a rude ass guy who goes around be all “HEY GUYS I HAVE HIGH RATINGS IM COOL”. We don’t respect you. We respect people who are good at chess, AND are respectful to people who are still learning. Heck, I could report you for harassment, since quite technically you are harassing people here who didn’t do ANYTHING to you. Please leave.
