Iron in in your blood

So, iron is in our blood, and iron is magnetic. Why, when I run a magnet over my paw dose it not stick? I don’t even feel anything except the magnet. Can anyone explain?

Not enough iron to create a suitable magnetic field

But you would feel something wouldn’t you

It’s not like chunks of iron you can see, they are tiny, do you feel your blood moving in your body? No you don’t, so why would you feel so iron molecules getting displaced in your bloodstream when you can’t feel your blood moving anyway?

Our blood is both attracted and repelled by magnets but there isn't enough iron to make it noticeable to us.

This article explains it.

Exactly

Ok, thanks. Stupid question

No it wasn’t, it’s pretty normal

I liked the question, made me think 🤔

I also liked the question. I knew magnets didn't affect blood but I had no idea why. This question piqued my curiousity enough to make me look it up.

Thanks

It’s a reasonable question don’t think that it’s dumb

The funny thing is when your low on iron your brain basically tells you that anything with iron in it looks good, so my dad (a nurse) had one patient who was like "idk dirt just looks so delicious right now, and chewing on a clay pot is so satisfying"
