Johnny Carson group

I would like to start a group on this site where we can share memories of Johnny Carson, who I miss very much.  There are alot of talented talk show hosts out there but to me Carson will always be the best because of his unpredictable wit and dry sense of humor.  Maybe you're not familiar with Carson but would like to learn a bit about the man who hosted the "Tonight Show" from 1962-1992.  You are certainly welcome to join.  Let's give the group a try and see how it goes.  I've started it; join me and let's share some laughs.

Johnny Carson was (and still is) the king of late night television. Leno was his successor, Letterman should have been his successor, and O'Brien will soon take the reigns, but none of them can ever touch Johnny.

For that matter, I don't think anyone will ever touch Johnny. Never again will Americans be put to bed with the deftness and wit that he exhibited for 30 years. He never used salty language, never told a joke in bad taste, and never relied on crude innuendos, yet he never failed to get a laugh.

Today's brand of humor is, sadly, much different than it was 15 1/2 years ago, and we will most likely never see the likes of Johnny Carson again. With all due respect to Jay Leno fans and Conan O'Brien fans, neither one of them will ever match the real king of late night.

Johnny Carson was indeed the King of Comedy on the airwaves.  If you take into context how long shows and/or show hosts last on the boob tube, it is a real feat of genius that Johnny lasted as long as he did in an evolving and fickle supply and demand environment based on ratings.

God Bless Mr. Carson.
