Both have white shirt wearing beer guzzling fat and sloppy couch  potato husbands.

And non employed big haired wives. A pet dog for each family. And brilliant second oldest siblings.

Both have well off yuppie next door neighbors. With Married with Children it's Stevie and Marcy Rhodes. With the Simpsons it's the Flanders.

Both the Rhodes and Flanders wives have short curly brown hair.

Both shows premiered on the Fox Channel in the late 1980's.
